A Sign of FIRE!

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

Chapter SIX ((6)) of Jeremiah! And we blow a trumpet here!

Jer 6:1 O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.

Bethhaccerem = House of Vineyards.

In Hebrew “Blow in Tekoa, the Trumpet ” is a pun, saying “Tiku in Tekoa”. Jeremiah loved to make plays on words, and acrostics on the name of satan, 666, SSS, Shoked, Shaked, Sheshach. Later he would write the book of Lamentations, a giant acrostic of the Hebrew language.

Benjamin lived in the north side of the land of Judah, exactly where evil will appear, which means the children of Benjamin (son of my right hand) need to pay attention here. The elect need to learn from this verse that a “sign of FIRE” will appear in Bethaccerem.

Rev 16:8-9 How about the 4th VIAL!

8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

Jer 6:11 Therefore I AM full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.

The “house of vineyards” is symbolic for God’s elect who produce the “firstfruits” out of THAT vineyard. The fire is the elect witnessing during the trib of satan. It will be really needed, even though God’s people will be so easily deceived, they’ll be like little girls (Jer 6:2), that they will come to deceive her all day (Jer 6:4) and all night (Jer 6:5).

Jer 6:10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
Jer 6:17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

This is the first time “hearken” is used in Jeremiah. It is his everpresent plea to the people to “hear ye the word of the Lord!”, not Jeremiah’s word or even “man’s” word, but God’s Word only! (Jer 1:9)

We have the command from God to circumcise your heart (Jer 4:4) and now the ear! This is unique for the Old Testament, but it foreshadows our day, when there is no “male or female”, but all is INWARD/Spiritual:

Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Circumcision represents taking away the things of the “man”, his words, his buildings, his thoughts. Just get rid of all that stuff and rely on God alone. Hear only GOD’s words, don’t let God’s Words, the Bible, be a reproach! It should be a delight! And truly when you study and hear God’s plan and love for your very soul, your heart is warmed.

Be careful what “man” you listen to!

Jer 6:13 For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

Jer 6:14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

The elect are crying “BEWARE! DANGER is coming, A WAR is coming, BEWARE!” but the unlearned say “no only peace. Peace is coming.” or they say they are going to be raptured out of here, or “we should all get along and not fight”.

Is that what the Gospel armour is for to stand around and agree? and be peaceful? NO. But trust in the Old prophets:

Jer 6:16 ¶ Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the OLD paths, where is the GOOD way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Don’t ask for a “NEW” word or a “NEW” thought, but ask for the OLD Path and you’ll be OK!

Jer 6:18 Therefore HEAR, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what IS among them.
Jer 6:19 HEAR, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto My words, nor to My law, but rejected it.

Jeremiah preaches to ALL nations, He begs them to HEAR.

Jer 6:20 To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.

Sheba means spiritual completeness. God says “what is this stuff you are passing off as spiritual completeness?”

Jer 6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.

God is going to allow them to be deceived because they don’t accept God’s Word, the Bible! 2 Thess 2:11.

The battle to come is Spiritual!

Jer 6:23 They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.

we are about to come into a new age, where labor pains bring us closer:

Jer 6:24 ¶ We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

NOT in peace!! Get ready to cry a bunch.

Jer 6:26 O daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.

They will “try” that is to say assay, test the metal. We are to TRY it and TEST it.

Jer 6:27 ¶ I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.

And after they try it, they don’t find “gold and sliver” but “brass and iron”!

Jer 6:28 They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.
Jer 6:30 Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.

“Get away from Me I never knew you!” Matthew 7:23

Warning of an Open Sepulchre

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

Jeremiah chapter 4 opens up some new topics.

THE FIRST time we see “BLOW YE THE TRUMPET!!” Jer 4:5

Who blows this trumpet? the Elect (all those circumcised in HEART Jer 4:4, therefore either gender)

We have the FIRST warning that the King of Babylon is coming! Jer 4:7

Exactly what happens when the King of Babylon (satan) comes? Jer 4:9

the HEART of the King and Princes shall PERISH (Historically King Zedekiah and his sons, prophetically of spiritual death)
the PRIESTS shall be astonished
the PROPHETS shall wonder

This prophecy of the King of Babylon, given by Jeremiah was given way before it would come to pass, at least 22 yrs from Josiah’s death to this event. And it also prophecies of the coming “king of Babylon” that is to say satan in the end days when the fury of the Lord pours forth like fire (Jer 4:4)

The prophets who haven’t read this word will WONDER what the heck just happened!

Satan will come and be a dry wind, not to fan, nor to cleanse. Jer 4:11.

Destruction is coming Jer 4:20, and it will be so complete that God compares it to the first destruction of the first world age Jer 4:23, but He will not make a full end (Jer 4:27) because of the tiny remnant peppered throughout the land.

Chapter 5 is titled INVESTIGATE because Jer 5:1 says “see now, and know, and seek…”, which means we don’t have to have blind faith, but we can have KNOWLEDGE Jer 3:15, 4:22 of the Lord, if only we INVESTIGATE what we believe.

Have you heard people say “all you have to do is believe in God and you’ll be OK”. Is that true?

Jer 5:2 And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.

Here it says they SWEAR falsely! Why is that? Because they MISQUOTED THE SCRIPTURE. Here is the FULL and correct statement by Jeremiah speaking for God (Jer 1:9)

Jer 4:2 And thou shalt swear, The LORD liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in Him, and in Him shall they glory.

So these people that say “I believe in God and He lives!” aren’t acknowledging the REST, His truth (the Bible), His Judgment (coming like fire), and His righteousness (only HE is Lord).

So you can cut off half the verse, and be speaking the FULL truth!
Be careful of those who do that, for they are copying satan in the wilderness who quoted half a verse and lopped off the rest of the truth!

Jer 5:7 ¶ How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them THAT ARE NO GODS : when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.

Ultimately, satan wants to be God , and his message is, since the garden of Eden “you can be gods too knowing good and evil!” Well, no you can’t, because there is NO EVIL in God!

Psa 5:4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with Thee.

So whoever i swearing by them (men who think they’re gods) are no gods at all! Don’t swear by them!

Jer 5:26 For among My people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

Hey they are there! Don’t trust in any man without checking him out in God’s Word.

You see, these evil men don’t believe God’s lives AND will judge them!

Jer 5:12 They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not He; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:

You have to get the “AND” or you are swearing falsely. Can’t believe the words of men.

Jer 5:16 Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men.

A Sepulchre is a storehouse of death. False teaching leads to death, so it is a storehouse of false teaching.

This false teaching is to a great extent:

Jer 5:17
And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread,
which thy sons and thy daughters should eat:
they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds:
they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees:
they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.

We have a STOREHOUSE of false teaching, perhaps some would even write BOOKS full of false teaching!
And many “mighty men” to peddle and promote these books as “prophecy”.

Then they sell these books, instead of the bible. – HARVEST
Books – BREAD
People come and see “what sayeth the lords” – FLOCKS
they can’t find any real truth, they are herded like cattle – HERDS
Vines produce really good fruit! Unless it’s not “our Vine” – VINES
Fig tree leaves covered Adam and Eves parts, due to their sin, and
the fruit being good or EVIL tells all – FIG TREES

Jer 24:2 One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

Just because someone presents to you a “storehouse” of information, doesn’t make it truth, and if it doesn’t agree with The Bible then it just flat out is lies.

God says we must INVESTIGATE, hence use your eyes and ears :

Jer 5:21 Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

They don’t even look at nature, which He has provided for us to learn (Jer 5:22), nor do they know what the Latter rain or the former rain is (Jer 5:24).

The final chilling conclusion:

Jer 5:30 ¶ A wonderful (an astonishing) and horrible thing is committed in the land;

Jer 5:31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and My people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Israel lost in idolatry

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

If you are following along in the book of Jeremiah chapter by chapter and verse by verse (the best way to study), you will see chapter 2 starts with the God’s heart. Notice that we aren’t starting this book with a historical viewpoint of Isaiah. At this time in history, things were actually pretty good in Jerusalem. Josiah took down all the altars of idolatry and started obeying all God’s commands written in the scrolls.

Chapter 2 & 3 are written from God’s viewpoint, not Jeremiah’s. God takes the subject all the way back to the beginning of the kingdom of Israel and He reviews where they started in the beginning, or their “youth”.

Jer 2:2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

Jer 2:3 Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.

Then, as you read, you discover how Israel has fallen away from the Lord and sinned repeatedly, and trusted in other nations (like Egypt) to save them.

They tried to clean themselves from sin with soap:

Jer 2:22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before Me, saith the Lord GOD.

Can you imagine people today believing that regular soap can actually clean them, rather than the LORD thy God! It is like they are trying to change how salvation is acheived!

Jer 2:36 Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.

This Word from the Lord instructs us not the CHANGE anything! We should beware of those “prophets” who seek to change this Word of God.

Chapter 3 continues this historical record of idolatry, symbolized by harlotry, and begins with the example of man and wife.
Like chapter 2, where God says that He loved Israel like a young wife, very much, but in the start of chapter 3 He says that normally when a woman leaves a man to another lover, that the first man should NOT take her back, but our Heavenly Father says “I’ll take you back!”. Jer. 3:1

This analogy is not just for this little group located in Jerusalem in 600 BC, but it stretches all the way forward to today, in the end when the Day of the Lord takes place, even people TODAY who have backslidden can repent from their whoredoms and God will accept them. All He wants is your love.

An important detail here for ALL of Israel, and all of God’s children today is that God will withhold the “latter rain” from them IF they don’t turn away from FALSE RELIGION.

Jer 3:3 Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been NO latter rain; and thou hadst a whore’s forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.

One of the keys to this chapter is that she “refuses” to be ashamed. Why? Because she thinks she’s washed all her sin off with one application of DIAL soap! She says:

Jer 2:23 How canst thou say, I am NOT polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

God then brings us up to the days of Josiah, right before the big revival of Josiah they were full of idolatry. (Jer. 3:6) When Israel refuses to return to the Lord, He takes the most drastic action, and DIVORCES her (Jer. 3:8 ).

This means no more covenants with the seedline, no more “kings in the land”, no more “dwelling in her tabernacles”, no more dwelling in the land. This is a DIVORCE; therefore God is refusing to deal with man on a “flesh” basis. Her sins have COMPLETELY defiled the marriage agreement.

Jer. 3:9 says “And it came to pass through the lightness (famous) of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with STONES and with STOCKS.”

The phrase “and it came to pass” is used for the first time here in Jeremiah (and not again until Jer. 13:6, where it’s used of a number of days). It is placed here appropriately by God to show us the period of time addressed here in chapters 2-3 is the whole “time” of her whoredom. So, “and it came to pass through the lightness (famousness) of her whoredom” meaning this passage of time is complete and full defilement. Therefore a justifiable reason for DIVORCE.

The people were forbidden to USE stones in idolatry:

Lev 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of STONE in your land, to bow down unto it: for I AM the LORD your God.

How these people thought that stones could communicate or talk, or be an auora of light or truth is flat contradictory to what the LORD God says is true.

NO religion can be founded on a “stone”, God wouldn’t use a “stone” to communicate with his people, for He said countless times that they can neither “speak” or “talk” how ridiculous people would trust in them!

God said He would give us KNOWLEDGE, not talking stones.

Jer 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

He doesn’t expect us to have blind faith in “stone” talkers, but merely reading the Word of God ACCORDING to HIS heart. We see several books of prophecy begin with His HEART. This book of Jeremiah does this, and Revelations begins with His love for the churches, He wishes them to repent of their sins. We see a similar statement in Jeremiah 4:22.

We have an interesting prophecy in Jeremiah here that things made of gold, even the holiest item ever crafted by man, the ark of the covenant, the highest piece of furniture, will be done away with and no longer used.

Jer 3:16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say NO more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.

This is an interesting prophecy about things made of GOLD. God says, “I don’t need it, and neither do you.” Its part of the DIVORCE of God from Israel. He isn’t going to depend on flesh men to make “holy things” any more. He isn’t going to require men to maintain ANYTHING of gold, to HIDE anything made of Gold.

Please note that the ark of the covenant ITSELF (as of manmade materials) did not “go up to heaven”. God doesn’t need it to keep it there because men would covet it and fall into idolatry again. Be careful of anyone who says God is holding a golden object up in heaven.

The real reason for this, is that God is discussing the time of the Millennium in Jer. 3:17,18. The Location is Jerusalem and God’s throne is dwelling there in reality. Therefore we don’t need things made by men and for flesh men. Flesh will be done away with, along with its weaknesses Praise God!

Finally the message to backsliding Israel. Jer. 3:22, 23. God insists that there isn’t salvation in the hillside or a multitude of mountains. It reminds me of the tower of BABEL, built HIGH to the sky. You can’t get salvation from men of the earth, or from some place on earth, no matter how beautiful it is. Even as beautiful as America is, we won’t find salvation here. Its like trying to wash away sins with a bar of soap.

God has put His heart on the line for His children. Let’s hope they repent and turn from talking stones and sticks, or bars of soap, or things made of gold by men. None of these things will save us, BUT this message from God to Jeremiah (Jer. 1:9). Which gives us clear objectives to salvation, a clear path to follow, and clear list of commandments to follow in obedience and love.

God’s Word is Fenced In

Monday, August 1st, 2011

I’d like to talk more about chapter one:

Jer 1:11 ¶ Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. (almond is SHOKED – early bloomer, watchman)

Jer 1:12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten [SHAKED - Watching, guarding at the threshold] my word to perform it.

This word SHOKED for Almond tree is named because it is the first to arouse and awake from the sleep of winter. The allusion for Jeremiah is that he sees the people of the end days who are good, who know the truth, who have woken from the sleep of stupor and are ready to defy satan when he pretends to be Messiah.

This sets the tone for the entire book of Jeremiah, that there is a small remnant of people who will be obedient to the Lord and by His might , help perform it.

Just WHO are these almond branches? Remember when Aaron’s rod budded in Numbers 17:8? That is the analogy of the priests of God who are to come in the end days.

1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light:

There is no gender here. Only one condition is required to be an “early waker”, a royal priesthood, an elect. And that is to be circumcised of the heart.

Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Now that we know WHO the royal priesthood will be made of, we learn in Romans that our praise isn’t directed toward “men”, but of God alone. God told Jeremiah that He would put His words in Jeremiah’s mouth in Jer. 1:9. His words are our protection, see verse 17 next:

Jer 1:17 ¶ Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.

Pastor goes into our GOSPEL armor when he reads this verse.

Our loins are girt with truth. God’s Words to Jeremiah are FENCED in like a fortified city, and as HIGH as the heavens themselves and the power of the prince of the air.

Jer 1:18 For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls
against the whole land,
against the kings of Judah,
against the princes thereof,
against the priests thereof, and
against the people of the land.

Nothing gets in or out a defenced city, of walls 15′ thick! No Fiery darts can penetrate an IRON pillar, reaching unto the heavens (see Job 26:11, 9:6).

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in HIGH places.

Eph 6:16   Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Satan has a few tricks up his sleave, his children knew how to use brass and iron:

Gen 4:22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.

But God trumps these useless tools of men, even those fiery darts of the spiritual realm.
God tells Jeremiah not worry, not to run and hide like a mouse, but STICK to it and STAY in Jerusalem and preach, no matter what they will do to him or say to him.

Jer 1:19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I AM with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.

The truth Jeremiah had girt about His loins was impenetrable of the LIES of satan.
God said he would make a WALL round about this truth (Jer. 1:9) This would come to pass, not long after Jeremiah’s prophecy in the form of the Massorah, which is notations around the sides of the Sacred text, locking in the Word as true and correct.

Even though the CITY would fall, the LAND taken over, the KINGS and PRINCES murdered, the PEOPLE sent to Babylon, and the PRIESTS removed from their office. Even after all that, God’s Word would be fully protected, preserved, and in perfect form.

God would soon say:

Jer 2:31 O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?

In that generation God’s word was preserved. God says “can’t you SEE how I fulfilled My word to My people?” Yet, even after generations God’s providence and guidance, they say “we are lords”. They say the Bible, God’s Word wasn’t protected, and therefore is not true!

Jer 2:27 Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.

They have turned to the walls of stone churches where another gospel, and another book, other than God’s Word, is taught. They have turned their face away, your face has your EYES, and your MOUTH in front, so they don’t READ God’s Word, the Bible with their EYES, yet they call themselves “lords”! Let their new god save them (for he can’t) in their time of trouble they will trust in “holy garments” or “holy” stones. Why would a man trust that a “stone” could tell him what sayeth the Lord God?

Jer 2:28 But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.

It’s obvious their “holy” stones and “holy” stone walls will not save them in their time of trouble.

Jer 2:8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew Me not: the pastors also transgressed against Me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

This was a rough time, with much wickedness all around. Even the PASTORS, Prophets, and Priests didn’t know God! Even the ones “handling” God’s word, didn’t have a clue. But despite ALL the confusion, ALL the destruction, and ALL the rejection of God’s Word (Jer. 1:9), God will PRESERVE HIS WORD.

When King Jehoiachin cut up God’s Word with a penknife (Jer. 36:23), God commanded Jeremiah to RE-WRITE it Jer. 36:28. Note that Jeremiah didn’t need a “stone” to tell him God’s Word (Jer. 36:32), he didn’t need to go into a GROVE full of STICKS to hear this TRUTH, but plain and simple he wrote it down again as God had commanded and God fulfilled His promise to protect this prophecy from the KING of Judah.

Jer 2:11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

IF we CHANGE THIS Word, this Bible, then we turn our backs to God and EYES away from God to people who trust in groves, and magic stones, or hats or whatever.

Jer 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken Me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

This is really strange that God’s people would turn away from fountains of life, God’s Word, to cisterns that can’t even hold water! When something is easy to disprove as false, then it is said to be “full of holes”, yet some of God’s people choose a religion that is so false, so obviously errant and full of HOLES that no water at all can be found there.

God can be a source of pure water for us, all we need to do is turn to Him.

Jeremiah’s Timeline

Sunday, July 31st, 2011

Jeremiah was a prophet sent during the reign of the last good king of Judah named Josiah. Ezekiel and Daniel came about 20-30 years after Jeremiah.

His prophecy shows the earth as not governed at all. Therefore you will see a lot of mayhem, records of what happened in Jerusalem when the Kings (after Josiah) didn’t help the people to obey God at all.

In Josiah’s day there was a BIG revival! They found the scrolls “buried” in the Temple of the Lord, lying untouched for 300 years (with the exception of King Hezekiah maybe).

It is interesting that Jeremiah means “God launches forth” because the big revival was prophesied of 300 years before this!
Right when the Kingdom of Israel split up:

1Ki 13:2 And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall be burnt upon thee.

and Jeremiah was a prophet that God chose from birth! See Jer. 1:5

So the big revival and the prophets hand in that revival was PLANNED by God, and when Jeremiah was born His plan unfolded exactly as it was prophesied.

This era of time is often called the “desolations of Jerusalem” era, which helps identify where in history we are.

Before Jeremiah’s prophecy, there was 70 years of silence between Isaiah and Jeremiah. During that time an evil king named Manasseh ruled, and maybe a few others.

But mostly it is the beginning of the end for Jerusalem.

Jeremiah didn’t just prophecy of the “end of Jerusalem” or its destruction alone, but its eventual rebuilding.

Jer 1:10 ¶
See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

So in studying this book we will try to remember that its not just about tearing down, but building back up. Hence, we have Jeremiah’s commission, and so we begin to understand this grand book of Jeremiah!

It is also said of Jeremiah that his prophecy was sealed tight, and nothing would get out or in because these words are God’s words (Jer. 1:9) and He is protecting them.

Jer 1:17 ¶ Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.

Jer 1:18 For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.

Jer 1:19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I AM with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.

666, SSS, What’s comin’ down

Rev 13:18
Here is wisdom.
Let him that hath understanding
count the number of the beast:
for it is the number of a man;
and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

666, Written in Greek becomes SSS (because of the sixth letter in Greek stigma).

What is it that we must have “understanding” of?  Obviously the Bible, but more specifically what beast?  what man?   Again, the “man” is satan, and the beast is the 4 kingdoms of Daniel 7:3.

These 4 kingdoms eventually converge into one great “beast”, Daniel’s 4th beast, Dan. 7:7, and the “little horn” of Dan. 7:8, which is also named the “king of Babylon” (Babylon means confusion).

Now there is a prophecy regarding the “king of Babylon” that is unfulfilled:

Jer 25:15    ¶    For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause ALL the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.

In Revelation Mystery Babylon holds this cup:

Rev 17:4         And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

and going back to Jeremiah to confirm Babylon will drink it:

Jer 25:26 And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

Jer 25:27 ¶ Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.

SHESHACH – is  cypher for BABEL (meaning the letters are opposite their counterparts in alphabetical order, like instead of ABC you have ZYX )

There is also a SHISHAK in Scripture, the Egyptian Pharoah who sacked Jerusalem in 933 BC.  These words are very similar in meaning (also see SHINAR, another word for Babylon):

SHESHACH - ”thy fine linen”

SHISHAK     - ”greedy of fine linen”

SHINAR        - “country of two rivers”, the land of Babylon proper

All three have the gematria (counting the numerical value of the letters) as 620, but if you add two letters in Hebrew VAV(“and”, value 6) and MEM (“from”, value 40), it equals 666.

In this verse Shinar totals 666:

Isa 11:11    And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left , from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

Now, we understand the “who”, we must then understand the “what” and the “why”.

Jer 1:11 ¶ Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.

Jer 1:12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

Almond tree in Hebrew is SHOKED

Hasten it in Hebrew is SHAKED

So now in the book of Jeremiah we have what God will do to Babylon:

SHOKED    SHAKED    SHESHACH

S   S   S

Which is to say 666, in Greek.  Here is how 666 will tie into SSS giving us explicit details we need to know.

6th Seal   =   SHOKED, Jer. 1:11

6th Vial   =  SHAKED, Jer. 1:12, 5:6

 6th Trump= SHESHACH,  Jer 25:56

A deliberate pun upon a pun on a cypher.  It even carries over into English a little although its a stretch CHOKE SHAKE SHE SHOOK (mystery Babylon)

SHOKED is actually the almond tree, which of all trees is first to arouse and wake from sleep of winter.  Can we see the 6th seal in this?  When the people arouse and wake from their sleep?   Finally seeing who antichrist really is, and the elect do this “early”, at and before the 6th trump.

SHAKED is to watch at the threshold, or to guard it and ready to pounce.   In one verb form intensive, it means to make in the form of almond flowers.  We see the 6th VIAL here, where the LORD is ready to pour it out and pounce on Babylon.

Aarons rod budded, meaning he was of the priesthood.  Our rod, as the elect will bud during the 6th vial, with almonds when YAH pounces.  The almond fruit will arrive at the millennium because it had mostly been rejected before that in the 6th trump, as Jer. 26-29 foretells.

Jer. 26:2 says not to diminish a word!

SHAKED is used in this verse for when the Leopard “watches” over their cities.

Jer 5:6         Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.

God is  watching the 6th trump time period with intense anger, and comparing this verse with Isa 8:1 and we know that it is the 6th trump, and Isaiah shows us how long the prey must be preyed upon.

This really reminds me of Isaiah 8:1 Maher (haste) Shalal (spoil) Hash (speed) Baz (prey)

Isaiah helps us understand the SHORTENING of time!

Isa 8:4         For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.

Children usually talk around, oh, let’s say 1 year old, or less. So this hastening to the spoil and prey will not be as long as 3 1/2 years when it happens, but shortened to less than a year according to Isaiah!  We know from Revelation that it is shortened to 5 months (even 2 1/2), but here we have the imagery that this indeed is the case.

We can even see this pattern in the book of Ezra, when the children returned from Babylon to Jerusalem, Ezra left in the 7th yr of Artaxerxes, and it took him FIVE MONTHS to get there, let’s read:

Ezr 7:8 And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.

Ezr 7:9 For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.

There he witnesses and taught the truth (symbolic of our delivering up to Babylon)

Ezr 7:10         For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.

Again they came from Babylon to Jerusalem to witness.   The elect come from “confusion” to witness and teach the law of the Lord in Jerusalem!  How exciting!

Thank our Father in heaven for His understanding that He so freely gives us, to know the mark of the beast.

Rock of My Salvation

Friday, July 29th, 2011

When you study the Bible, a helpful study technique is to find where a word first occurs in the Bible. If we apply this to the word “rock” we find it in Exodus:

Exd 17:6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

So the ROCK is the symbol of Safety, salvation, and refuge.  Deut. 32:18 says the “Rock” created us, speaking of God, 2 Samuel 22:47 “exalted be the God of the ROCK of my salvation”,  Psa 28:1, 62:6,7, which show that God our Rock is our safety and refuge, and finally rest and refreshment in Isaiah 32:2.

The symbolism of water from a rock, is that of the truth from God flowing to our minds, giving us salvation, safety, and refuge.

Deu 32:4    He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He.

Deu 32:13    He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

Oil is symbolic of truth.  The Rock is symbolic of His perfect work, the Bible.  It isn’t missing or lacking any truth, but flows with truth.

We also need to beware though because Moses warns us of a false rock, and hence a false “bible” out there, along with satan himself being the false messiah.

Deu 32:31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

Deu 32:32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

Deu 32:33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

We must NOTE here that there are some people out there that “look” like christians.  They have a “vine” full of fruit, meaning they look really holy!  They are doing things for the sake of “holiness”, that is more like what they did in Sodom and Gomorrah, which we know what that sin is.  I don’t even want to imagine the rituals some “churches” employ to cleanse a member and make them holy enough to enter into their sanctuary.  Almost pure sodomy!

Their “wine” is poison of dragons, even cruel venom of asps!   “wine” is symbolic of the influence the Holy Spirit gives us, but their wine is the poison of dragons, even cruel venom of asps.  I often think how cruel some “christians” can be when others do not follow their dogmatic beliefs.  Their “holy” spirit, is not our Holy Spirit!

Finally their “rock” is NOT our Rock!  That means that there is another “father” out there (none other than satan) who not only pretends to speak “truth” in the garden, but will pretend again to speak “truth” as the false messiah, the false rock!

When satan spoke in the garden of eden, and insisted that we could become “gods”, it was a LIE, pure and simple, for the creation does not become greater than the Creator!  For this is what those who believe satan do!

Rom 1:25         Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Satan shortchanged the truth.  Satan said:

Gen 3:5    For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Is there any EVIL in God?

Psa 5:4    For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

1Jo 1:5    This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.

Psa 7:9    Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end ; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

Psa 10:15    Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find NONE.

This is what satan did, when he spoke of being a “god”:

Psa 28:3    Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief [EVIL] is in their hearts.

See you have to abhor evil, when satan said you could know “evil” Adam and Eve should have known this was a RED FLAG.

Psa 36:4    He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

We need to learn to observe these RED flags, when someone “speaks” things to us, or when someone writes words down claiming they are “divine”.

Don’t ever “love” the words of the snake!  Don’t ever trust that they are “good” !

Psa 52:3    Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

Satan is a liar and the father of lies.

Jhn 8:44    Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

So OUR ROCK is NOT their rock!

Anyone who believes satan in the garden of eden is following a false rock, who will give false fruit and false wine, and one day he’ll be their false messiah.

So when we look for RED FLAGS (huge signs that warn us of danger) then we might think of the “pillar of fire” given to WARN Pharoah to stay back and go away!

Exd 14:24    And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

The pillar was a SIGNAL, or red flag if you will, which the Egyptians totally ignored to their doom.

A symbol that does NOT exist in Scripture is “a pillar of fire” dwelling upon a rock.  When you think of a “rock” your mind should zoom to the Scripture that speaks of water of life coming from a rock, NOT FIRE!

As everyone knows, where there is FIRE, there is NO WATER, and water is a symbol of life and truth.  Therefore, a pillar of fire from a rock is a huge terrorizing warning sign, that there is NO TRUTH in that rock!  NO SALVATION in that rock!  and NO Refuge in that rock!

If you ever read in a book claiming to be divine with a vision of this symbol, know that you are entering a danger zone, and remember OUR ROCK gives life, safety and salvation, NOT FIRE!

Say what?

The prophet Ezekiel and Jeremiah were sent to prophesy in the ears of the people in their own tongue.  These books were obviously written in Hebrew.  God says to Ezekiel (a captivity prophet)

Eze 3:5    For thou art NOT sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

In other words your prophecies will be in HEBREW, your known language of the Israelites.  Not Babylonian:

Jer 5:15         Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.

Neither Egyptian:

Psa 81:5                This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

Psa 114:1             When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

Now, the exception to this is Daniel.  He wrote several chapters in Aramaic, but it was a language he learned when the King took him into the college of Babylon, not native to Daniel.

The prophets have wielded an authority over foreign NAMES that probably puzzled the foreigners so named.

The first example is the king of Egypt named “SHISHAK”:

1Ki 14:25    And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem:

Now, there wasn’t a king with that name!  But one similar to it.  His name was RameSeS II.

Washmuaria Riamashesha was Rameses II’s full name.

Shesha was his nickname.

The Biblical  redactor often makes a play on words, particularly when dealing with foreign names.  This is usually done to pour scorn on those who do not follow in the path of the true God.

Shashak in Hebrew means ‘assaulter’ or ‘the one who crushes [under foot or under wheel]‘

This would require a very good grasp of the Hebrew language to accomplish this.

Jeremiah was also very good at this technique:

Jer 20:3    And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magormissabib.

Now this is a big word here, and if you take it little by little it is easy to understand.

Pashur was a high and mighty priest and he decided to whip Jeremiah and lock him in a stock.  When he released Jeremiah that is what was prophesied over him.

Jer 20:4         For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.

Why are names important?  What did Jeremiah do by renaming Pashur?  It was basically repeating the prophesy itself.

Pashur (6583) means – freedom, prosperity everywhere

Magor-missabib (4036) means – terror everywhere

Pashur is not Hebrew, but Jeremiah treats it like it is Hebrew anyway!  HaHa that’s what I like to do with names too.

Ok, so take then name Pashur (pronounced Pashchuwr),

Jeremiah took the sound “chuwr” which sounds like a Hebrew word “gur” (1481), which means dread. And added to it with the preposition M-, Magor (4032) which means Terror!

But he didn’t stop there!  Not just a Gur, but looking at the foreign name again we see that it ends with “-shchuwr“, meaning dwelling, but the Hebrew version is “sabib” (dwelling), so adding the preposition M-, creates the second Hebrew word “Missabib” meaning on every side.

Therefore his new name “Magor (Terror) Missabib (dwelling on every side)“.

Jer 20:6         And thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buried there, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied LIES.

Jeremiah was in good control of his usage of Hebrew.  Look at this prophecy:

Jer 1:11 ¶ Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree (SHaKeD, pronounced Shah-ked)

Jer 1:12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it (ShoKeD)

and one more verse:

Jer 25:26    And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

 Shaked—Shoked—Sheshach

Sheshach is “assaulter”, but also represent Babylon.  The almond tree represents judgment deferred, but God will do it (perform judgment) on Babylon (satan and the nations).

Just to play along with Jeremiah here, I’m going to add the obvious English spelling, God will shakey shakey for she is shameful!  Ok that’s more like alliteration, but you get the idea here.

Hopefully, you can see Jeremiah was a master communicator in Hebrew, and how a Hebrew handles himself in his own language.  We make puns almost every day, but Biblical puns pack a more powerful punch.  Each part of the pun has meaning and truth that make it plainer than day and more precious than silver.

Josiah & the 300 year prophecy!

Monday, July 25th, 2011

2Ti 2:15    Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The Bible has an exquisite structure or division, which organizes the Word of Truth in a logical order of Revelation.

Each truth that is established (by the  mouth of 3 witnesses) is REVEALED truth.

Genesis – Deuteronomy – reveals the true nature of God as good and all powerful to provide for His creation.

Joshua, Judges, Ruth – Man struggles to trust God, Israel cries for a “man” to lead them, Samson trusted God alone to give him power to free him, for there was no king in Israel.

I, II Samuel, I II Kings, I, II Chronicles – The performance of the covenant race, they fail because the flesh is weak.
Ezra-Nehemiah – a 2nd chance at obeying God’s commands in the flesh, but epic fail.
Esther – Supposedly took place when Jerusalem fell, the desolation era.
Job – an example of how man’s wisdom is useless and error prone….hence not divine.
Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon –  Words to live by in the flesh body, short and fleeting.  God’s Word exalted.

The next section is the prophets.

Isaiah, Jeremiah (& Lamentations), Ezekiel, Daniel, & the 12 “minor” prophets –  All prophecy of nations that rise and fall, and God’s judgment upon the sinful seedline of Israel, and salvation procured by the Lamb from the old serpent satan himself.
These books are similar to the four Gospels in that they focus on the “Day of Vengeance”  rather than the acceptable year of the Lord (1st advent):

Isa 61:2         To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

This proclamation is exactly what these prophets were commissioned to do.

They did not need to give any genealogies because Christ fulfilled the need for a pure seedline (that is no one in His seedline, had mixed with the angels).

1Ti 1:4    Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than Godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

Fables is connected with genealogies for a reason.  It means don’t let anyone make up an entire family that never existed because this will cause some to question the actual documented truth (like history is documented).

The books of the Bible are given in a perfect order. God reveals Himself little by little, so that, by the time the prophets begin writing, they only need to reveal the coming judgment and salvation of the people, which ultimately extends to all people, not just Israel.

This can be seen in the commissions of each prophet.  The truths are not only plain and precious but timely, relevant, and apropos.  The standard of Scripture is much higher than any fake fable trying to charade as the real thing.  ”Plain” however does not mean bland, made plain and obvious because of the colorful figures of speech inserted throughout.

The first prophesy was given to the first King of Israel (Jeroboam) and prophecies the demolition of false idols by the hands of the last free King of Judah named Josiah 300 years before it actually happened!

This is what we call internal evidence that the Bible testifies of itself.  Josiah would be the king when Jeremiah began his prophecy:

Jer 1:2    To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

It was Jeremiah’s prophecy that resurrected the law of God out of the dusty shelves from over 300 yrs of neglect.  Hilkiah was Jeremiah’s father.

2Ki 22:8          ¶          And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.

If you read 2 Chronicles you see it confirmed that Jeremiah prophecied in Josiah’s day.

2Ch 35:25    And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.

He lamented for Josiah, because Josiah HEARD the Word of the Lord and did ALL the commandments therein:

2Ki 23:25         And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.

The King, prophesied of 300 years before his birth, did exactly what was prophesied to happen.

2Ki 23:2         And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the LORD.

2Ki 23:4         And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel.

again he continued to do exactly what was prophesied:
2Ki 23:15    ¶    Moreover the altar that was at Bethel, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he brake down, and burned the high place, and stamped it small to powder, and burned the grove.

2Ki 23:16         And as Josiah turned himself, he spied the sepulchres that were there in the mount, and sent, and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burned them upon the altar, and polluted it, according to the word of the LORD which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these words.

and most importantly Josiah held the GREAT PASSOVER:

2Ki 23:21 ¶ And the king commanded all the people, saying, Keep the passover unto the LORD your God, as it is written in the book of this covenant.

2Ki 23:22 Surely there was not holden such a passover from the days of the judges that judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah;

The point here is that, if any group of people found the Bible and read it, they would see that God commanded them to hold a Passover once a year, and naturally desiring to obey those commandments, this is exactly what would result.

There had to be some kind of vindication by God, due to the excessive idolatry and wickedness the seedline of Israel practiced.  A true prophet and king would demolish every stitch of evil left in the kingdom.

1) that is exactly the kind of King God was looking for , for 300 years.

2) it is the logical result after reading the law of God, from the beginning, to then abolish the idolatry, and hold a great passover.

God wasn’t looking for some prophet to run for his life and hide in the ancient land of Midian.  He didn’t need someone to have visions of a “tree of life” relating God’s goodness.  God  was angry!   He needed a King and a prophet who would guide the people, one last time into the true word of God.  He needed these two men to be brave and strong in the face of certain death, yet they pushed through it all without one ounce of fear of death.

Just as we do today, when satan arrives on this earth to rule as the false messiah for a short time, we also know we have nothing to fear.  We are told not to run and hide like a wimp, but stand and be strong in the face of death because God is our rearward and WITH HIM we will prevail.  The name Israel means, we will prevail over men as long as we are with God.

So the literal seedline pictures a spiritual seedline, brave and ready to conquer the King of Babylon.

Names of Patriarchs tell a story

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

We are encouraged to search the scriptures to find the truth.   A search of the Biblical patriarchs (the first 10) gives us a prophecy of Christ to come.   This sets the bar really high for inspired Scripture.

Can other books even compare to this standard?  If they are Divinely inspired, then they will meet the criteria with ease.

Let’s look at an unfamiliar work called the “book of mormon”.  We have a little genealogy given at its preface before chapter one.

It is thus:

Lehi – Laman – Lemuel – Sam – Nephi

We must understand that the writer claims Lehi has “great knowledge” in the language of his father.  If they were residents of Jerusalem and priests, then it would no doubt be Hebrew.

Being first generation from Jerusalem these names would have to be from the Hebrew language.  Only problem is, the “names” Laman and Lemuel are prepositions in Hebrew.  It would be like naming your kids “According to” and “From”.  This seems highly unlikely, but we take the bait here to resolve the “message” of the patriarchs of the book of mormon.

In hebrew the root words are usually three letters with an “a” between each letter, vowel variations can change the meaning a little, but the root word always gives a fuller picture to the meaning.

In the example of Lehi, the root word would be LaHaH.

so Lehi means “jawbone” in Hebrew, which goes back to the root LaHaH (3856) which means to faint from thirst, as in a famine.

used in Genesis:

Gen 47:13    And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan fainted 3856 by reason of the famine.

Prov 26:18 As a mad 3856 [Lehi] man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,

Prov 26:19 So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?

Lehi – Laman (4616) – Lemuel(4136) – Sam – Nephi

To Faint – for the sake of (4616)- the presence of (4136) – the image of jealousy (turning from the true way) – to the LIE

Sam : Semel in Hebrew 5566 image, figure of the statue of jealousy

or Simel – 8041 take the left, from the true way

Note this is not SamuEL, which is pronounced SHEMuel in Hebrew, and when shortened is never “sam” but Shem.  EL is also missing, which is part of Samuel’s name translated “heard of God”.

Nephi – the only correlation is Nephil, which is 5303 a bully or tyrant, a giant.  Nephi says several times he is big in stature, and he bullies his brothers around a lot in the first book.    Naphal – 5307 means to fall/LIE, Nephel (5309) means something fallen, i.e. an abortion.

Truly when the book  of mormon is held up the standard of the Bible, it falls miserably short of inspiration by God, unless he did guide the writer to give names that would reveal to us the truth of the book of mormon, which is that which is stated in the meanings of the Hebrew  names.
